Management Team

Jim Kinlan, President and CEO
Jim Kinlan is the President and founder of KMT Software. A 30-year veteran of the computer industry, Mr. Kinlan has worked for industry leaders such as Digital Equipment Corporation, Lotus Development, Funk Software, and MapInfo Corporation. Prior to founding KMT Software, Inc., Jim was Vice President of Business Development for MapInfo Corporation. Straight from Jim: "Two things motivate me at work: making great products and developing relationships with key partners." The products piece has paid off as he managed two products that were named "Best Products of the Year" by PC Magazine. As for the relationships piece, just check out the partners KMT has developed.

Mr. Kinlan holds a bachelor's degree and has published numerous articles and books in the computer field. He lives in Cambridge, MA - sometimes referred to as "the most opinionated zip code in America" with his wife Carol and two boys.

Sarah Yoo, Director Of Marketing
As the Director of Marketing, Sarah oversees the development and sales of KMT Software's award-winning small business software. She brings 10 years of experience in graphic design, marketing and small business administration as well as several years of painful-yet-educational experience in Silicon Valley's start-up market. Sarah is currently involved in software management, marketing and anything that requires photos, images, logos and more for KMT Software.
Sarah received her B.A. from Boston College and also studied at the California College of Arts and Crafts. She's a die-hard Chicago Cub fan living in the midst of lunatic Boston Red Sox fans.

Otto Warner, Business Development Coordinator
Otto Warner is the Business Development Coordinator for KMT Software. He is a graduate of Northeastern University, where he studied Marketing and Entrepreneurship, and had the chance to gain some valuable management experience while in college, working as a Master Scheduler and Project Manager for Teradyne Corporation through Northeastern's Co-operative Education Program. Otto went on to work briefly in the Real Estate Development and Construction industry as the Sales and Marketing Manager for BeanTown Development, and also co-founded his own Real Estate Investment company, Bartlett Capital Investments.

He is a steadfast self starter who's motto is: 'Whether you think you can or think you can't, you're right.' He is also a certified martial arts instructor and brings the discipline and spirit of the martial arts into every aspect of his life.

Mike Griffin, Director of Academic Content Development
Serving as one of our primary sources for timely, relevant content, Michael Griffin is a professor of the accounting and finance department in the Charlton College of Business at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. He is a Certified Management Accountant, Certified Financial Manager, and a Chartered Financial Consultant. Mr. Griffin has written over two dozen books and has developed a variety of software applications in the areas of accounting, finance, personal financial planning, and small business management.

In his role as the Director of Academic Content Development with KMT Software, Mr.Griffin has been very involved with the development of the academic business textbook software supplement line of products. Michael is a graduate of Providence College (BS, Management) and Bryant College (MBA).

Robert DeVita, Technical Support Supervisor and Product Manager
Originally from New York City, Robert DeVita is a recent graduate of Boston College, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science. A life-long interest in both hardware and software has landed Robert here at KMT Software as our new Technical Support Supervisor, making sure that our products serve our customers as best as possible. Robert is also the Product Manager of one of our newest products, OfficeReady 4.0.

Robert also takes interest in programming and designing video games, as well as surviving in Boston as a die-hard Yankees fan.

Ian Shultz, IT and Technical Support Coordinator
A member of the technical support staff at KMT, Ian Shultz brings over 6 years of field experience in networking and IT Support, and a lifetime of knowledge in all areas of computing. Formerly both a private consultant and lead technician at a business consulting firm, he has developed networking and PC solutions for many businesses and high-profile projects, including the Ben Franklin Tercentenary exhibit for the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia.

Ian currently resides in Cambridge and is also a fulltime musician, playing the guitar and composing his own projects.

Thai Son, Art Director
Thai Son is the Director of KMT's Graphics and Web Design Department. His primary responsibility is the management of all design activities, including template development for High Impact eMail and other HTML projects. Prior to his employment with KMT, Mr. Son worked for a computer retail company. As an authority on Adobe’s Photoshop, he has written extensively on the product and has contributed greatly to the look of KMT’s products with it. The recently-married graphic designer holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hanoi Foreign Trade University.

Umeed Kothavala, President of Extentia
As President of Extentia, Mr. Kothavala’s primary responsibility is keeping the company focused, and managing their development environment. Prior to presiding over Extentia, Mr. Kothavala started his own consulting company, Odin Tech (India), servicing the development and management requirements of software development houses dealing with a spectrum of international clients. Mr. Kothavala graduated from the Pune Institute of Computer Technology with a degree in Computer Technology (Honors). He then went on to complete his Masters in Computer Science (Upsilon Pi Epsilon) from Purdue University.

Naazneen Boocha, Vice President of Development, Extentia
Naazneen Boocha has primary responsibility for managing all development related activities. In addition to managing developers and project managers, Ms. Boocha works with graphics artists, technical writers, and QA managers. She started her career as a developer with Finolex Software Systems working primarily on cross platform development. Following that, she spent a number of years at ASTRA as a project manager, where she was instrumental in setting up the software development division and managing its successful growth to a large development team. Ms. Boocha graduated from the University of Pune with a B.E. (Honors) in Computer Engineering.
